Usher brought The Truth to Atlanta on October 2nd and 3rd of 2004. His tour was filmed live at Philips Arena for a later DVD release. Usher has been known to collaborate with artists such as Beyonce and Kanye West on a remix of Love in this Club. Every year around mid-September Sesame Street Live performs a new and exciting show at Philips Arena. This year, as we stay true to tradition, Sesame Street Live is back with Elmo's Green Thumb! This time last year Philips Arena hosted its first ever UFC fight night with UFC-88. The main fight card for this event included Chuck "The Ice Man" Liddell and "Sugar" Rashad Evans with Evans winning the match very quickly. This event achieved the second highest gross for Philips Arena with Barbra Streisand being the first.

On September 2, 2009 Sting performed at Philips Arena on his Sacred Love Tour. Sting returned again with the Police more recently in 2007 for two more sell out shows. This Week in History

Joel Osteen has had various meetings at Philips Arena sharing lessons of hope and prosperity to congregations of 10,000 upwards to 19,000. Joel Osteen executed his first sermon outside of Lakewood Church, where he currently resides, in 2004 at Philips Arena. This event proved to be a success as patrons where aloud into Philips Arena until seating ran out and it was standing room only. Following this sermon, Joel Osteen returned in 2005 to preach on September 1st and 2nd and most recently this past Friday, August the 21 as he conducted "A Night of Hope."

This Week in History

On August 17, 2000 AC/DC played Philips Arena as part of their Stiff Upper Lip Tour. This was one stop out of 36 on the North American leg of the tour. This tour was based off of the bands album Stiff Upper Lip released February 28, 2000. Some singles from this album and included on the tour include "Stiff Upper Lip" "Safe in New York City" and "Satellite Blues"
