This Week in History

Who watched the American Music Awards last night? Philips Arena staff did, and we are so pleased to congratulate the winning artists that have played in our building over the past ten years. This years AMA's boasted 7 artists that have played Philips Arena including the following artists:

This Week in History


This time last year, Philips Arena hosted WWE ECW and RAW filling the arena with tons of wrestling fans to see favorites like John Cena and Triple H. WWE will be at Philips Arena in the near future for a pay-per view event, Royal Rumble on January 31st at 7:30. This Week in History


On November 11, 2004 Jay-Z and friends, including Snoop Dogg, Ja Rule, Busta Rhymes and Mary J. Blige, rampaged Philips Arena during a stop in Atlanta for the Best of Both Worlds tour.

Five years later, Jay-Z is headed back to Atlanta with the BP3 tour scheduled for February 27th, 2010. Tickets for this show go on sale this Saturday, November 14th at 10:00 AM. This Week in History

On November 1, 2007 Stevie Wonder graced Philips Arena with a medley of his greatest hits. This tour was his first in over 10 years and was inspired by the recent passing of his mother. Singing hits such as Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours and Superstition Stevie Wonder amazed the crowds at Philips Arena.
