On September 2, 2009 Sting performed at Philips Arena on his Sacred Love Tour. Sting returned again with the Police more recently in 2007 for two more sell out shows. Joel Osteen has had various meetings at Philips Arena sharing lessons of hope and prosperity to congregations of 10,000 upwards to 19,000. Joel Osteen executed his first sermon outside of Lakewood Church, where he currently resides, in 2004 at Philips Arena. This event proved to be a success as patrons where aloud into Philips Arena until seating ran out and it was standing room only. Following this sermon, Joel Osteen returned in 2005 to preach on September 1st and 2nd and most recently this past Friday, August the 21 as he conducted "A Night of Hope."

On August 17, 2000 AC/DC played Philips Arena as part of their Stiff Upper Lip Tour. This was one stop out of 36 on the North American leg of the tour. This tour was based off of the bands album Stiff Upper Lip released February 28, 2000. Some singles from this album and included on the tour include "Stiff Upper Lip" "Safe in New York City" and "Satellite Blues"

This Week in History

The brilliant musician and legendary performer, Prince, too the stage at Philips Arena on August 9th and 10th of 2004. This same year Prince released the album Musicology and also performed live at the Grammy Awards with Beyonce Knowles. From the album Musicology Prince won two Grammy Awards before beginning his tour in 2004.

On August 3, 2003 the Dixie Chicks performed at Philips Arena during their overly contrivirsial Top of the World Tour. Yes fans, this is the same tour that kicked off in Europe earlier in 2003 with a specific incdent taking place on stage in Lodon. During the London show singer Natalie Maines stated ''We're ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas.'' Following this tour the band's next album included single "Not REady to Make Nice" which directly addresses the fallout from the "big Bush bash" on the previous tour.

Destiny's Child performed at Philips Arena on July 28, 2001 to a sold out house on thier Fullfiled and Lovin It Tour. The ladies of Destiny's Child made this a memorable performance singing tracks from their latest album Survivor, which Beyonce co-wrote and co-produced most of. Along with an outstanding performance at Philips Arena, Destiny's Child filmed their performance for a DVD entitled Destiny's Child Live from Atlanta. On July 24, 2004 Madonna was at Philips Arena on her "re-Invention Tour" as one of her 12 North American stops of the tour. This tour included material from Madonna's most recent release of her 2004 "American Live" album ,as well as many of her classic hits.
