This Week in History
In the year 2000, Philips Arena celebrated the 4th of July while singing along to Born in the U.S.A. with Bruce Springsteen. Two sold out shows were played on July 3rd and 4th as the Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Reunion Tour made it through Atlanta, GA. Preperation for this tour took place at Asbury Park Convention Hall in New Jersey and started in March of 1999. Dozens of Springsteen fans stood outside the Hall on the cold and windy boardwalk and beach, hearing what they could and reporting it to fan forums on various internet sites. During one of these sessions fans heard the first run through of "The Train Song" which would become the tours closing epic "Land of Hope and Dreams."
