A matchup between the Georgia Force and the Tampa Bay Storm had fans on their feet on May 29, 2005 at Philips Arena. The Force was originally a Nashville team (the Nashville Kats), and when the team relocated, an Atlanta Journal Constitution contest asked readers to submit their favorite name for the team. The name Georgia Force won, and the team indeed became a force to be reckoned with in their 2005 season. They boasted an 11-5 record, a National Conference Championship, and a spot in the ArenaBowl XIX.
